Project Description & Challenges
Our design and construction team had the challenge of working within the existing space of this second floor master bedroom and adjacent hall bath.  The clients desired a luxurious master bath but were concerned about losing their limited closet space.  The floor plan shows how the space was reconfigured to create a private access to their stunning master bath that overlooks the neighboring woods.

This serene and charming bedroom has been reconfigured to improve its privacy and functionality. The Tibma team created a bank of windows just out of the camera’s view to bring in more natural light and built a solid wall to put the bed against. While actually decreasing the size of this room, it made the overall goals for the master suite accomplishable and brought the dimensions of the room into scale.

This jewel of a master bath now has the privacy and décor that these clients were seeking. The spa-like bath has a tub is just right for a long hot soak and also boasts a 3’ x 4’ shower with frameless shower door. Decorative storage niches with glass shelves over the tub are the perfect spot for the client’s collection of antique powder jars and bath accessories. Cocoa colored marble flooring is striking in its contrast to the cream colored cabinetry and the luster of the polished nickel gives a rich finish to the plumbing fixtures. Radiant heat in the floor adds to the feeling of warmth in this lush bath.

These gold leaf picture-framed mirrors are actually medicine cabinets. Beautiful and functional as well! The double bowl vanity has an ogee edge that mimics the edge detail of full overlay cabinet door. The simple elegance of this bathroom makes its appeal widespread.

The detail of the foot of the cabinet makes it furniture-like in appearance. It is a true classic.

Can you imagine a closet that is 20 feet long? By making use of the eaves in the attic of this “Cape” style home, the Tibma team was able to build in cabinetry to provide shelving and drawer space in this expansive closet area. On the opposite wall, a double row hangers and more shelving truly create a place for everything. Even jewelry and fashion accessories are within reach to complete each outfit. The design team also included outlets for portable phones and digital cameras. When you are this organized, how can you possibly have a bad day? Wouldn’t you like to get your day started with a closet like this?
