In The Community

Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Dog House

There are a lot of people in the Boston area struggling to make ends meet and thanks to you, we were able to make a difference.

Earlier this year, Tibma Design/Build served as a drop-off point for a food drive to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank and we would like to thank everyone who participated.

If you would like to know more about future community support projects, please contact us.

Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Dog House

Tibma Design/Build participated in the 2009 Wellesley-Weston Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (PMC) Kids Rides program on May 31, 2009 by donating a doghouse to the silent auction. The doghouse was constructed by Tibma Lead Carpenter, Dan Shaw, and his father and eventually delivered to one happy pooch and his adoring family.

The PMC Kids Rides program, founded in 1998, consists of mini bike-a-thons around the nation through which young cyclists ride to raise money for cancer research. Our 2009 Wellesley-Weston ride brought together 700 riders, 335 volunteers and many generous sponsors who raised more than $100,000 for the Jimmy Fund of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Like the hub of a wheel, the kitchen is the heart of the home. That’s why the annual Wellesley Hills Junior Woman’s Club Kitchen Tour remains so popular, even in an era when busy families have less and less time to sit down to a home-cooked meal. view article

Tibma Design/Build is sponsoring the January "Ray of Hope" award given to a student at Needham High School. The award program was created by the Needham Youth Commission, in partnership with the Needham Business Association, to identify young people who have performed outstanding service to the Needham community and/or who by their actions are excellent role models for their peers.  We were pleased to be able to support the Paper Shredding and Electronic Recycling Fundraiser on Saturday, May 9. This successful event was sponsored by the Needham Community Council and the Rotary Club of Needham, of which Dan is a member.

John Jordan, Dan Tibma and Gary Donlan helping out with the paper shredding and electronic recycling fundraiser.

Tibma Design/Build’s company van was seen driving all over town as employee John Jordan made residential pickups of old computers, monitors and other recyclable electronics. Proudly sharing the spotlight with our van are (l-r) John Jordan, Dan Tibma and Gary Donlan (fellow Rotary club member).

Based on the large number of residents who took advantage of this opportunity, it is obvious that there is great need in our community for this kind of environmentally responsible disposal. We are pleased to have played a part in making this event possible.

Giving back to the community has been a part of Tibma Design/Build’s philosophy for years. For the last three years, we have sponsored the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club Kitchen Tour.

This year we were also the 2008 sponsor for the 32nd annual Marketplace Craft Festival held on Saturday, November 22nd at the Wellesley High School.

The proceeds from both of these events provide scholarships and financial support to a wide variety of civic and community programs.

The company also supports a number of other philanthropic causes and supports Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, school fundraising events, and the Holiday Tour sponsored by the Needham Women’s Club

This picture was taken recently of a playhouse our team constructed that was auctioned off at a school fundraiser.
